I had the pleasure of seeing Reggie Watts this weekend at the BMW Guggenheim Lab where he and two professors of sound presented three very different points of view on silence, the creation and usage of sound, and the effects sound has on us. Although cold and wet, the outside presentation was engaging and often times hilarious. I will try and post an audio excerpt from the show.

Ah the far away time of watching these every Saturday morning on the Sci-Fi channel (which was short for Science Fiction) long before it became the super hip Sy-Fy (which is obviously short for Syence FuckYou).

Two episodes that stick out in my mind are “The Mole People” and “Prince of Space.” I remember laughing rather hard at those. I miss this show.

Anyone else have a favorite?

This is a new video for Weird Al Yankovic’s “Another Tattoo” which is a parody of that song you know. Don’t know the song? Neither did I, so I looked it up. It’s called “Nothin’ on you” by B.o.B.

There’s something nice about the fact that Weird Al is still making funny parodies. It feels like he’s been around forever, and when it comes to funny bones, he still offers up a welcomed tickle. The video itself was created by Augenblick Studios who also animates Comedy Central’s Ugly Americans.

Watch it a few times to catch all the tattoo jokes, and to get it stuck in your head.
